UFO

Yes, ... the missile comes in black

Another great English space show, and from the same maker as the Thunderbirds, was UFO - but this time not made with puppets but real actors. The plot ? A base on the moon that helped a secret organization free the earth of UFO attacks.

(or orange...) Shado Interceptor, UFO, Dinky Toys, UK,
1970s

  1. Why were they made in green when the real things weren't?

  2. Good question... maybe because they only received black and white pictures from the show when it first aired ? I don't really know. But it is not the first time Dinky got it wrong with their colors... and they seem to make it on purpose (ex. the blue Thunderbirdds 2 ship - the original version was green. Why did they turn to blue ? )

  3. Hi Geoff,
Loved UFO when I was a kid. The aliens were pretty damn creepy..and the Interceptor, wrong color or not, super COOl.Still have mine...and it's in roughly the same shape as your, except the cockpit bubble is clear, not blue. Cheers

  4. Hi ! Thanks from sharing this. Yes, I really liked the series also, even though they did not aired a lot on French TV when I was a kid. But I had my vengeance when the DVD box came out !
