Long necked Spidey ?

Spiderman (?), China, 2010 ?

No people, it is not IA. It is a toy I found at my usual hunting ground (Feira da ladra in Lisbon).

Either the designer of this thing smoked something he should not have or there has been a crossover between a spider and a giraffe. No one will never know.

Strangely enough, it takes me back to my childhood super hero style. The major amusement park in the Netherlands, de Efteling, has a similar figure called Langnek...

Italian puppetery...

I got these  "burattinos" (puppets) in a shop close to Piazza Navona in Italy. They are modern - but nicely made and handpainted !

Bootlegs... China's best !

Power-Man, ?, China, 2000's
I know some collectors only do collect these... I just love them because : 1) they are cheap (yes, we do have a financial crisis over here in Portugal) and 2) they are much more naive than most of the "licensed" toys that try to get up to the latest detail of the particular movie / cartoon or serie.

Then also, they are stupidly fragile. Give these to any kid and they will last 2 or 3 hours max without loosing an arm or head, catch fire or give a lead-paint or other nasty chemical reaction to your cherished ones... So, from the collectors point of view - really fragile is really hard to find in good condition in 20-30 years, right ? Fisher Price toys are not that hard to find because they can withstand an Elephant playing with them... These? Not even an ant...

Entangled in a web ? It's Spidey's fault !

This is the 12" version... and as you can see Peter Parker needs new socks... and a new emblem.
Did the enzymes do this ? You need to change the brand of detergent you use Peter...

Spiders in the attic ? - ask Corgi for help !

Toymakers were very eager to cash in on any profitable license... this is true today like it was true in the past. British toy-company CORGI made a number of Spidey toys that never appeared in the comics of in the cartoons.

Spidercopter, Corgi Juniors, England, 1970's

Why would Peter Parker need a helicopter, or worse, a bike, ifhe can jump from one tower to the other with his web ?

Spiderbike, Corgi Juniors, England, 1970's

The design is nice though - the big helicopter is a mixture of scorpion with arachnid. Talking about 2 bad bugs for the price of one !
