False Zeroids ?

Astroid Robots, Durham Ind. Hong Kong, 1970's

The blue one looks like Zerak...
... and the orange one like Zobor

If there ever is a "design" of the 70ies for robots, this is it. All plastic with tracks and computer-paper-stickers on their chests.

A little taller than the real battery-operated ones from Ideal !
Well, they had to put the windup mechanism somewhere...

Zeroids...

Zeroids were one of the turning points in robot toymaking. Smaller, cheaper to produce than their tin-toy counterparts - they introduced the concept of playset - interactions between the robot and it's diorama / base.
