Atlantic Falcon Space Interceptor

Italian toy-production had some great design of their own. They did of course do the licensing game (Goldrake, Harlock, ...) but soon found out they could make something bigger and better inhouse. The Atlantic Spaceman and Spacecraft line is such a thing. Read more about it here (in Italian :)

This particular craft was available already fully built (like here) or as a build-it yourself model kit.

VTOL Convair XFY-1 Vertical Riser

Landing aircraft without the need of big landing strips has always been in the mind of the military. This VTOL (=Vertical Take-Off and Landing) plane with its double propellors is an early attempt of the US Navy in this field. It really was one of the stranger designs in aeronautics.
