The Force is strong in the Familly !

Merci Mam !

Star Wars minicube - Noëlle de Terwangne - 2020

This ain't like dusting crops, farm boy !

Luke Skywalker, Kenner, Hong Kong, 1978

The Lab

Well, you knew this would be there sooner or later... The hiding place of the greatest robot of all time ? Check. One of the more elusive toys on my wanted list ? Check. It's plastic and metal and has it all : retractable tower, laser guns, spring loaded missiles, secret compartments... and the smallest version of Grendizer and Spazer I have in my collection...

Grendizer base (PA-63), Popy, Japan, 1979

Obscure French Spaceman ?

Spaceman with missile launcher, Hugonnet, France, 1970's ?

Does anyone have more information about this toyline ? ("Série FERAL") Looks cool - and this one has a cape ressembling the ones on the Gatchaman figurines from CEJI. (merci à Utopia !)

Spectreman

Spectreman Sofubi, Masaduya ?, 1970's, Japan

This was one of the many series that followed San Ku Kai (Message from Space) on the french TV. With a rather important ecological message - do not polute (like the enemy apemen did...)

Endoskeletons - Copycats ?

C3PO, Hasbro, China,
 1998

Terminator Endoskeleton, Kenner, China
1991

Holly suction Batman !

Batman with suction cup, ?

If a Garfield dangling from your car's window is not good enough for you, why not try the caped cruzader ? OK - cape is missing. But you get my point...

MB's Star Bird - the best electronics in 1978 !

If there is one "non Star-Wars"- spacetoy boys wanted in 1978 it was this baby.

Laser guns, modulable, and a reactor sound that amazed kids and sent parents to the assylum 😁 - it had it all !

Star Bird, MB, 1978, Rep. of Ireland

Eat Candy you shall !

Yoda Candy Container, TOPPS, 1998, USA

... with other figurines and TOPPS card

Colors 'n Space

Space ships, Hong Kong, 1970's

Other versions of these were sold later on Battlestar Galactica cards as "Galactic Cruisers" by Larami of Piladelphia, but they did not have the spring loaded missile launchers between the wings anymore.

Achhh... progress...

Britains' Space soldiers...

These were also part of my childhood... Bright yellow - at least they did not get lost in the carpet like so many other unfortunates !

Stargard Space Craft, Britains, England, 1981

The ship was all genius toy-design : a weighted base in the transparent cockpit always kept the astronauts level. This type of design was reminiscent of spaceship design in the Yoko Tsuno books I read at that time...

"the Forge of Vulcan" - pg.16 detail - Roger Leloup

Bouba, Bouba... (Monarch, the big bear of Tallac)

Do you remember this one ? Another "please let the young children weep" cartoon we all grew up with...

got to love the streamlined modern design !

...modernism seems so old today !

Vintage R2D2 lookalike kit with neck-extending feature ???

Robot, ? Japan ?, 1970's ?

And voilà !

Some of these toys are just ... out of this world, really. I suspect it is a Japanese kit from the late 70ies, but would love to have more information about it.

The Child... no, wait, not THAT ONE !

Anakin Skywalker, Hasbro, 1999, China

La Cucaracha robot

Musical Robot, HC (Hing Cheong), HONG KONG, 1980's

This one really plays the Mexican tune... all it's missing is a guitar and maybe a mustache to go with it !

The "U.N.SPACY" stickers come from Macross universe - so it should place this bot right in the same timeframe.

Paper heroes

When you think about the Génération Goldorak, you think automatically about French TV... but it was also highly popular in North Africa.

Here are two examples of paper puppets to assemble with Arabic packaging. Maker unknown...

Alcor, ?, 1978

Actarus,?, 1978

Lionbot

Red Lion Robot, Unknown, 1980 's ?

I picked this up in the 1990's at a Belgian fleamarket. Have no clue from which serie this comes from, so if anyone recognizes this toy please send me a message.

I transforms into a car and suffered some damage to the crown piece...
