Another Sel-Mac "Portuguese" astronaut ?

Spaceman, Valverde ?, Portugal, 1950's

Well, my favorite blue astronaut found a grey family member. Not complete, but just finding one of these already makes my day any day (thanks C. !)

Still thinking the maker could be Portuguese company Valverde based on the plastic "saucers" that are related to the blue one...

Taking pics of my toys

For info, I just posted some information here about how I go around and take the photos of the toys on my blog.

I am not a professional photograph and always appreciate any comments (good or bad :)) on how to take the best pictures possible. So, if you have any advice or tricks or... please don't hesitate to post them.

All advice will be greatly appreciated !

See-through Biotron...

Biotron, Takara, Japan, 2000

When all is clear, you can see the guts of Biotron on a sunny day. Japanese toy-companies always have liked to do clear and black and white versions of whatever toy they brought on the market. It's just their thing...

Harlock standee

Harlock, cardboard background (?), Eikosha, Japan, 1970's

I don't really know what this is or what it's used for, but this nifty cardboard standee did cost 350 Yen back in the late seventies, Was it used to keep envelopes ? Or important papers ?

Mister bug-eyes

Sometimes bizarre - robots are... Or at least this guy... Nobody really knows the maker, but it has Hong Kong pedigree for sure. Batteries ? They go in the head. And weird of weird : it has a knob to make him grow (yes ! legs extend !)

Space Monster Robot, ?, Hong Kong, 1970's

OK, technically, it is a dromedary (one hump people = North of Africa / 2 humps = Central Asia).
This one is great to play Lawrence of Arabia on the carpet.

Who is your daddy ?

Darth Vader and Stormtrooper, General Mills (Kenner), 1978

At a day of the new movie coming out, here you have the original of the Siths... because really, they don't make them like that anymore...

And his favorite weapon, the very civilized lightsaber...
