Atlantic Falcon Space Interceptor

Italian toy-production had some great design of their own. They did of course do the licensing game (Goldrake, Harlock, ...) but soon found out they could make something bigger and better inhouse. The Atlantic Spaceman and Spacecraft line is such a thing. Read more about it here (in Italian :)

This particular craft was available already fully built (like here) or as a build-it yourself model kit.

Sometimes I find toys at the fleamarket here in Lisbon (Feira da Ladra) that just ooze kitsch and nostalgia. This felt-doll is one of these. Apple? check! Fig leaves the Vatican could be proud of? check!

I guess these were the toys that were right for a time where people were tired of wars and just wanted to feel free.

Walkers are always interesting toys - making use of gravity, the weight fixed at the waist of the figurine would make it move forward... untill it would fall of the table or whatever other shelf it stands on. Not a lot survived all these falls !

Sometimes the most unusual figurines pop up. This one came from Pèle-Mèle, a second hand shop in Brussels. I am so glad when I can find these unexpected treasures ! A big thanks to Toki No Wa to help me figure out who made this statue.
