The Cosmos Robot

Cosmos robot nº8835

Kamco,  Hong Kong, 1980's

Same principle of all its predecessors.  It walks, stops, swivels with open chest and guns blazing and repeats itself until the batteries die out or my wife tells me to stop making all that racket...

Tog'lman

Tog'lman- Racer, Mattel, Hong Kong
1969

Tog'lman- Engineer, Mattel, Hong Kong
1969

Tog'lman- Fire Fighter, Mattel, Hong Kong
1969

This is a rather strange toy-line I stumbled upon in the early 1990's (old stock from Belgian sea-side toystore...). Were there other sets available ? Vehicles as shown on the cards ? The whole concept is rather generic and ressembles the plain looking wooden art-dolls that can be moved in a number of poses.

Corona closed the Cinema? No problemo - Video Night!

Telepocket Max (Albator box), Silvertoys / Artigrafiche, 1979 Italy

This camera is also Italian made, but from a different company than the ones from MUPI seen here.

I don't know how many toy camera producing companies got the Captain Harlock license in Italy - but it is nice to note they produced that packaging especifically for the French market, even though Capitan Harlock was as popular in Italy as in France at that time.

Of course, the cassettes were NOT compatible with each other. If MUPI was the VHS version of toy projection systems in the 1970's, this was it's Betamax counterpart.

Superman needs a tan...

Super Powers figurine / Superman, China, ?, 1990'S

Of course it's another bootleg... of course China made... I just find a lot of these figurines or they have a tendency to find me....

G-Force ! Go !

La Bataille des Planètes – Jeux 6-14 ans, MB, Ireland, 1979

Does this game look familiar ? Yes, it is EXACLTY the same as the Captian Future / Flam game in the messages below, except for the graphics...

An easy way for MB to get on the wagon of all the cartoons of the 1980's at a very small cost...

Cards showing where (=which hole) you need your spinning top to land in...

Drum and Bass !

When you have pink robots in your collection... With drums... you know you've achieved something! Not really sure what... but something...

Drum Parade Robot, Supertoys, China, 1987

Bootlegging for the Galaxy Empire ?

Galaxy Empire regular Chewbaca
China, 1990's (maker unknown)

Galaxy Empire Stormtrooper
China, 1990's (maker unknown)

Galaxy Empire "Bounty Hunter" Chewbaca
China, 1990's  (maker unknown)

Galaxy Empire Darth Vader
China, 1990's (maker unknown)

I don't know much about these figurines - found in Belgium in the 1990's in Chinese stores. They are much bigger that their Kenner counterparts...

Don't go Titanic on me...

Well, at least this futuristic craft has a spoiler...  and great box-design !

Water Spider, Yonezawa, Japan, 1970's

Little Fish...

Thunderbird 4, model kit (ST), IMAI, Japan, 1980's

Thunderbird 4 Bubble Bath, Grosvenor, UK, 1992

A Moon Suit ? What Moon Suit ?

... Maybe something like this ?

Adventure Man moonsuit, Cecil Coleman, Hong Kong 1976

Going back where ?

Luna Astronauts, Jean, Germany, 1970's

A lot of "going back to the moon" - talk today around the news of the Spacex crew. Here are the suits the Germans thought of in the 1970's... Wonder how much different they will be !

Have wings... Will travel !

Robot with lighted "eyes" and yellow wings, ?, Taiwan, 1980's

I have a number of these in my collection - system is simple - a rotary plug spins in the chest while robot is walking and this can move different accessories that are supplied. Are they all from the same company ?

Magna Botix, Cheng Ching Toys

Taiwan, 1985

Before Google...

Robot "gives the right answer" game, Jumbo, 1950's, The Netherlands

Robot "Magical Computer" game, Jumbo, 1950-60's ?,The Netherlands

Why does a toy company change the name of one of their best selling games mid-term ? I don't really know which version came first - my best guess is the green one - at least for the Dutch market. I know other versions were made in other languages all over the planet. The design of the plastic robot pointing at the answers with a metallic needle (yes, toy safety maniacs - a big metallic needle !)  also changed through the years. Maybe "Magic Computer" came into fashion ? Or is it the multilingual version of the box ? (even though all blue question cards are in Dutch and not in French or German like te box would suggest)

Mazinger bootleg ?

Robot Lance Missiles, Soclaine (Importer - Paris),
Taiwan, 1980's

Paper planes ? Nope - styrofoam spaceships !

Colors are hard to print on styrene !

This is a strange Comet...only 1 wing!

Outer Space Gliders, Taiwan, 1980's

Where's my piece of the Phoenix ?

Phoenix, ? (Banso ?), Japan, 1970's

Winter is coming !!!

Snowspeeder, Kenner, USA, 1980

This one is definitely high on the list of my favorite Star Wars toys. It's close to scale, has great light effects in the dark and can host 2 pilots. And the harpoon... don't forget the harpoon !

Robots and trains ? 2 of my hobbies coming together !

Sonic Mighty Transformer robot, HappyWell, China, 1997

Don't know  lot about this toy. Does it come from a cartoon ? It had quite an expensive pricetag in the 1990's, at least for a Chinese toy...

Sparkling rayguns

Sparkling guns nº5018 - LS - Hong Kong - 1980's

Do they only listen to AM in space ?

I-R-1-2 Starroid radio robot,

Calfax Inc. Hong Kong, 1978

Pistons !

Sentinel Robot, Kamco

Hong Kong, 1980's

Ahhhh - the smell of roaring pistons in the morning... and spring loaded missiles !
