Buck Rogers XZ-31 Rocket Pistol

Buck Rogers XZ-31 Rocket Pistol, Daisy Mfg. Co., USA, 1934

This is the first raygun ever produced as a toy. Call it the origin, number one or whatever else you may fancy. All I know was it made a big bang (lol) right from the start and sold in great numbers when it was launched in 1934. Now, it is still making "BANG"' 80 years later...  Read more about the story of this toy here.

The cocking mechanism is quite special, but still works after all this time !

Have helmet... will travel...

Astronaut, unknown (Russian type of helmet ?), 1960's

The slot on the back is a mystery to me. Some fellow members on Alphadrome suggested this may be a parachute toy... About 6.5cm high.

United colors of destruction...

Atomatic Rayguns, HR Productions, United Kingdom, 1950's
Brass nozzles ? Check !
Fins ? Check !
Atomic power supply ? Well, duhhhh... it's in the name.
I already had a transparent red one in my collection (see here), now these 3 join the club !

These fins are futuristic, streamlined and fishy... all in one !

Red, wet and Grey !

This is one of the more uncommon rayguns. Not a lot known about it, except that you fill it through the front lens piece.

When pulling the trigger, the little red barrel retracts and water squirts out.

Simple, effective weapon of choice for any kid close to a bucket of water or a swimming pool !
